Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Senior Interior Designer specializing in Production Documentation for Hospitality and Cruise Ship Design. We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Interior Designer with a strong focus on production documentation to join our hospitality design team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented professional with deep expertise in translating design concepts into comprehensive, accurate, and buildable drawing packages—particularly within hospitality and cruise ship environments.

Duties
- Prepare detailed production documentation including floor plans, elevations, sections, schedules, and details using AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino 3D, SketchUp, and other CAD software to ensure clarity and accuracy for construction teams.
- Lead the development and coordination of complete construction documentation packages for hospitality and cruise ship projects
- Translate design intent into detailed technical drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, millwork, and custom details
- Ensure all documentation aligns with brand standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements (including maritime guidelines where applicable)
- Collaborate closely with interior designers, architects, consultants, and project managers to ensure seamless project execution
- Review and redline drawing sets for accuracy, consistency, and constructability
- Coordinate with vendors, fabricators, and contractors to resolve technical issues and support production
- Manage multiple projects and deadlines while maintaining a high level of precision and quality
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented studio culture
- Collaborate closely with project managers and clients to review design intent and translate it into precise technical drawings that adhere to budgets and timelines.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously by organizing workflows, tracking revisions with Bluebeam or Adobe Acrobat, and maintaining strict version control.
- Ensure all documentation complies with industry standards, building codes, safety regulations, and contractual obligations related to interior design and renovation projects for hospitality and marine projects.
- Coordinate with contractors during construction or remodeling phases to resolve technical issues promptly and ensure design integrity is maintained throughout the process.
Experience
- Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects from concept through construction documentation while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.
- 8–10+ years of professional experience in interior design, with a strong emphasis on production documentation
- Proven experience in hospitality design; cruise ship or marine project experience highly preferred
- Advanced proficiency in industry-standard software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, Adobe Creative Suite; familiarity with BIM workflows is a plus)
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and detailing, particularly for high-traffic or specialized environments
- Understanding of codes and regulations, including ADA and (ideally) maritime standards
- Exceptional attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Strong communication and coordination abilities
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
Pay: $63,500.00 - $78,500.00 per year
