Senior iSeries Engineer

Link Technologies (LinkTechConsulting.com), a Las Vegas-based IT consulting firm, is currently seeking a Senior iSeries Engineer to join our team.

Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior iSeries Engineer to join our team and take ownership of the design, implementation, and maintenance of our iSeries infrastructure. As a Senior iSeries Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring that our iSeries environment is performing optimally, securely, and efficiently. You will work closely with other teams and stakeholders to design, configure, and maintain our systems to meet business requirements.

Perform responsibilities in accordance with all Company standards, policies, and procedures.

Essential Functions:

· Responsible for practicing, supporting, and promoting “Beyond the Best” Company-wide culture

· Manage and maintain our iSeries infrastructure, including hardware, operating systems, applications, and backups.

· Design, configure, and deploy iSeries environments to meet business requirements.

· Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to the iSeries environment, including performance, security, and availability.

· Design, implement and maintain high availability and disaster recovery solutions for iSeries systems using mimix

· Collaborate with other teams to implement solutions that integrate with our iSeries environment.

· Participate in capacity planning and performance optimization efforts.

· Develop and maintain documentation related to iSeries infrastructure, including procedures, policies, and technical specifications.

· Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies related to iSeries..

· Understand and enforce Company, department and guild standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

· 7+ years of experience in an enterprise environment with demonstrable expertise in design, implementation, and architecture of iSeries technology

· Self-motivated with the ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.

· Ability to communicate effectively with Team Members and Leadership in both written and verbal form.

· Must be able to work on call as required.

· Experience providing leadership in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

· Bachelor’s Degree in a technology related field or equivalent experience.

· Requires normal, corrective vision range, the ability to see color and the ability to distinguish letters, numbers and symbols.

· Must be able to sit at a computer for extended periods.

· Lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as computers, devices, and peripherals.

· Must be flexible on work hours as systems emergencies arise.

· Must be a self-starter and work with little or no daily direct supervision.

· Must be able to provide own transportation.

· Must be able to provide on-call support for the enterprise
