Role Overview

We are seeking a highly experienced z Systems ISV Infrastructure Software Engineer responsible for installation, configuration, lifecycle management, and support of Independent Software Vendor (ISV) products in a large-scale enterprise z Systems environment (90,000+ MIPs, multiple LPARs, SysPlex environments).

This role requires deep expertise in z/OS system software, SMP/E, z/OSMF automation, and enterprise ISV infrastructure management.

Core Technical Expertisez/OS & Infrastructure

• SME-level expertise in SMP/E installation, maintenance, and removal of system software
• Strong experience with z/OSMF software install workflows (minimum 2 years hands-on)
• Advanced proficiency in:
• TSO / ISPF
• z/OS console operations
• JCL creation and modification
• Dataset allocation & catalog management
• PDS / PDSE / VSAM
• zFS & UNIX System Services
• Experience supporting multi-platform environments (z/OS, Linux, Windows)

Enterprise Monitoring & Tooling

Hands-on experience with enterprise monitoring tools including:

• OMEGAMON
• BMC MainView
• TMON
• MXG
• Splunk

Large Enterprise Environment Experience

• 90,000+ MIPs environments
• Multiple Parallel SysPlex configurations
• DB2Plex and CICSPlex architectures
• Multiple physical z Systems machines
• Multiple production LPARs
• General Processors and zIIP processors

ISV Product Expertise10+ Years Required Experience With

• BMC Software z Platform infrastructure products (including Compuware)
• Broadcom / CA z Platform infrastructure products
• SAS Institute z Platform products

5+ Years Experience Supporting 50%+ of the Following Vendors

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, maintain, and support ISV system software
• Perform lifecycle management (planning → implementation → upgrade → retirement)
• Apply vendor fixes including:
• HIPER PTFs
• APARs
• PTFs
• Service Packs
• Cumulative maintenance packages
• Automate processes using z/OSMF
• Support Disaster Recovery recovery scenarios
• Design and document complex technical solutions
• Generate operational documentation for production support teams
• Manage vendor relationships and support tickets

Operational & Leadership Expectations

• Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation (primary and backup)
• Support weekend change windows (Sunday afternoons/evenings)
• Participate in Incident “War Room” troubleshooting
• Work in high-visibility, high-pressure enterprise environments
• Mentor junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally
• Ensure strict adherence to ITSM processes (Incident, Change, Problem Management)

• Leverage AI tools for data analysis and operational insights
• Utilize Microsoft 365 Copilot for documentation and communication
• Stay current with AI applications for IMS and z Systems programming

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: ₹619,850.79 - ₹2,432,985.14 per year

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Noida
