About the Role

A large-scale enterprise project is underway in Columbia, SC, focused on modernizing and supporting statewide ERP and web applications. We're seeking experienced Senior Java Developers with strong object-oriented design expertise to join a collaborative Agile team. This role is ideal for professionals who thrive in hands-on development, cloud-native architecture, and modern DevOps practices.

What You'll Do

• Develop and enhance applications with Java, Spring Boot, Maven, and JUnit
• Implement REST APIs, event-driven architectures, and containerized applications
• Participate in full Agile ceremonies: stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint demos/reviews, and retrospectives
• Collaborate with architects, developers, and stakeholders to design and deliver scalable solutions
• Support DevOps pipelines with CI/CD, automated testing, and security scanning
• Contribute to system modernization projects in a cloud-first (Azure preferred) environment

Required Skills

• 5+ years of Java web development (Spring Boot, Maven, JUnit)
• Strong background in object-oriented design and SOLID principles
• 5+ years of experience with containerized applications (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and event-driven architectures
• Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps for CI/CD and backlog management
• Strong understanding of Agile development practices
• Excellent collaboration and communication skills

Preferred Skills

• Cloud development experience (Azure preferred, AWS also valuable)
• Familiarity with API management, serverless services, and managed databases
• ERP-related development or integration (SAP, SAP S/4HANA, Ivalua, or similar)
• Knowledge of Git branching strategies (GitFlow)
• Industry certifications in Azure or AWS

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field
  OR equivalent combination of training and hands-on experience
