Senior Landscape Engineer (Construction)

Job Purpose:

To lead and oversee landscape construction projects including softscape, hardscape, irrigation, water features, swimming pools, and structural works. The Senior Landscape Engineer ensures compliance with approved drawings, technical specifications, quality standards, HSE requirements, and project schedules. The role also involves team leadership, resource allocation, technical coordination, and management of client/consultant interfaces.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Project Execution & Supervision

Supervise construction activities for softscape, hardscape, structural works, swimming pools, water features, and irrigation systems.

Ensure all works follow approved drawings, method statements, and project specifications.

Resolve technical and site-related challenges to maintain uninterrupted progress.

2. Programme & Schedule Management

Support in the preparation and monitoring of project schedules with clear milestones.

Track progress, identify delays, and implement recovery actions.

Ensure deadlines are met even under high-pressure working conditions.

3. Resource Allocation & Team Management

Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials based on project priorities and programme requirements.

Coordinate with site supervisors, foremen, and subcontractors to ensure optimal resource utilization.

Monitor productivity and adjust resource deployment to meet project targets efficiently.

Lead, mentor, and supervise site teams for smooth day-to-day operations.

4. Technical Coordination

Review, coordinate, and follow up on shop drawings, as-built drawings, technical submittals, and design clarifications, including pools, water features, waterproofing, and structural works.

Liaise with consultants to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely approvals.

Verify that all materials meet project specifications before installation.

5. Material & Procurement Oversight

Raise and monitor material requests (MRs) and ensure procurement schedules match project needs.

Review and approve material samples related to hardscape, concrete works, waterproofing, pumps, filtration systems, irrigation components, etc.

Track deliveries to ensure materials arrive on time without delaying the programme.

6. Client, Consultant & Stakeholder Management

Attend and lead meetings with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.

Provide technical updates, progress reports, and look-ahead schedules.

Maintain clear documentation and correspondence throughout the project.

7. Quality Assurance & Quality Control (QA/QC)

Ensure all works comply with project specifications, approved materials, and industry standards.

Conduct site inspections and coordinate testing and commissioning for irrigation, pumps, water features, pools, and electrical components.

Manage snagging, de-snagging, and handover documentation.

8. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

Ensure all site activities follow HSE regulations and company safety protocols.

Coordinate with the HSE team to enforce safe practices, especially around high-risk areas such as excavations, water bodies, and electrical works.

Qualifications & Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Engineering, Civil Engineering, Horticulture, or Agriculture.

Minimum 6 years of UAE experience in landscape construction including hardscape, softscape, pools, water features, and structural works.

Strong understanding of irrigation systems, waterproofing, concrete works, paving, pool equipment, pumps, filtration systems, and related MEP integration.

Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and Primavera/MS Project (preferred).

Valid UAE Driving Licence is required.
