Job Overview

Bridge City Design Build is seeking experienced Senior Lead Carpenters for Commercial and Residential remodeling in all phases. The Senior Lead Carpenter is responsible for performing the duties of a working carpenter including leading and training other carpenters, and skilled laborers; all while managing an exceptional client experience. In addition, this role will need to set clear goals for each crew member on site, give clear instructions, as well as provide hands-on assistance when needed. This role reports directly to the Leader of Operations and the Residential Foreman.

Roles:

  • Direct and manage crew from demo, framing, to high-end trim install.
  • Mentor/Train incoming employees.
  • Understand customer requirements.
  • Creating and adjusting project schedules accordingly.
  • Lead crew with hands on building and remodeling work including: installing kitchens, baths, flooring, tile, and cabinets, minor plumbing, minor electric (all the things it takes to build/remodel homes and commercial properties).
  • Review materials list to ensure that timelines are adjusted for availability, cost, and time constraints.
  • Coordinate quality control of subcontracted work.
  • Complete QA and QC forms.
  • Prepare and provide administrative staff with daily construction reports.
  • Inspect sites and conduct general repairs or maintenance as needed.
  • Follows established safety rules/regulations and maintains a safe and clean environment.
  • Perform other trades: preferred (light electrical, plumbing, tile, etc.).
  • Communicate and coordinate with cabinet shop crew regarding materials, orders, jobs, etc.
  • Must be able to accurately take measurements and calculate the size and amount of material needed for a project.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints, architectural/shop drawings, etc.
  • Perform other related tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Supervisor experience required.
  • Construction: 2 years (Required).
  • Must have at least 3-5 years carpentry experience and knowledge of remodeling.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead multiple construction phases simultaneously.
  • Excellent time management skills.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Must have experience in computer programs and digital media for logging time, intercompany communication, receipt tracking, and job documentation.
  • Possess a good work ethic, positive attitude, and demonstrate leadership qualities.
  • Knowledge of job site safety rules and regulations (OSHA).
  • Knowledge of woods and their uses and adaptability.
  • Knowledge of methods, tools, and equipment used in carpentry.
  • Adhere to all health and safety standards and report any issues immediately.
  • Background check required.

Salary:

  • $30.00 to $35.00 /hour
