Senior Lecturer - Cybersecurity

Job Objective: The role holder is responsible for designing, developing and delivering a range of programs of teaching/training to BIBF students, from introductory level to advance level. The role holder is required to prepare, review learning materials and evaluate the progress and performance of the students against the learning objectives of the programs / courses.

The role holder will also deliver training in the following areas:
  • Cybersecurity for Financial Crime Prevention
  • Cyber Security Governance, Risk & Compliance (Cyber GRC)
  • Fraud Detection using Cybersecurity Tools and Analytics
  • Data Protection & Privacy Compliance
  • Network Security & Infrastructure Protection
  • Information Security Management
Responsibilities: Core Responsibilities:
  • Teach and manage learning activities on a range of courses provided by BIBF and associated subjects.
  • Participate in the administration, design, and marking of examinations and other assessments.
  • Maintain up-to-date and accurate records of student progress, achievement, and attendance, and provide feedback to students and Training Managers as required.
  • Develop and apply innovative and appropriate teaching/training techniques and materials that create interest, understanding, and enthusiasm amongst students.
  • Develop and update training materials for cybersecurity courses and improve existing course content to ensure it remains current and relevant to industry practices.
  • Support the planning and implementation of a high-quality curriculum and review course content, structure, delivery methods, and assessments to ensure quality and relevance.
  • Review and maintain syllabi, textbooks, course materials, manuals, lecture notes, handouts, and teaching aids in alignment with BIBF policies and procedures.
  • Follow up on student submissions, case studies, assessment reports, and serve as an assessor, internal verifier, or exam invigilator as required.
  • Support programme administration, research initiatives, publications, and undertake other responsibilities as directed by the Head of Centre.
Preferred Skills:
Demonstrate willingness and capability to expand beyond core cybersecurity disciplines into emerging areas such as Artificial Intelligence (AI), and to deliver or support training programmes in collaboration with global providers (e.g., AWS or similar platforms). Relevant certifications or a commitment to obtaining them in adjacent domains will be considered an advantage.
Requirements & Experiences: • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional qualification is required

  • Master’s degree in a relevant subject, or equivalent professional qualification is preferred
  • More than 4–8 years of experience in a defined area of work
  • Experience of teaching postgraduate and undergraduate students
  • Experience in assessment of student work
  • Experience and knowledge of Learning and Teaching policies and processes within the field of Higher/Further education
  • Experience of curriculum development
  • Demonstrable academic, teaching, and administrative experience in the field of Higher / Further education
