Job Description:

The Coppin State University College of Business invites applications for Senior Lecturer beginning January 2026. Successful applicants will demonstrate an ability and commitment to:

  • Instruct undergraduate students in introductory MIS courses such as Technology Fluency, College of Business Seminar, and Small Systems Software.
  • Assist in growing the MIS program and increase public awareness of its existence through fostering relationships with professionals to enhance the coursework and department.
  • Develop and continually assess the curriculum to produce graduates who meet the employment criteria for MIS positions.
  • Embrace new instructional and programmatic technologies.
  • Working closely with freshman students through advisement.

The successful applicant will demonstrate the ability and commitment to teaching and recruiting students, advising student organizations, making intellectual contributions to the field, professional service, professional development, and meeting the instructional standards of the department, school, and university.

She/he should demonstrate proficiency in the of delivery traditional classroom based course content. The successful applicant will also participate in departmental, college, and university committees. This is a 10-month position beginning in January 2026. The College of Business is accredited by ACBSP. This is a Non-Tenure Track position.

Responsibilities:

  • Teach undergraduate MIS courses (Technology Fluency, Introduction to Business & Entrepreneurship Economics, and College of Business Seminar) day, evening, and/or on line.

  • Student Engagement - advising, motivating, and assisting students academically inside and outside the classroom.

  • Function in Department, Division and University committees to interact and interface with CSU faculty, staff, and students to expand the intrinsic interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary aspects of MIS.

  • Assist with recruitment and retention of MIS students

Minimum Qualifications:

EDUCATION

  • MS in Management Information Systems or related field.

EXPERIENCE

  • Academic experience or three years industry experience in the industry is preferred. New doctoral graduates are welcome to apply.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Familiarity with Office applications, Windows Operating Systems, Computer and Information security and basic AI applications.
