Almazan Law is seeking a Senior Litigation Attorney for its Tampa office location. A minimum of three (3) years of litigation experience is preferred. The attorney will work alongside senior partners in the civil litigation, construction and general liability departments. Competitive salary and benefits package.

Almazan Law is a technologically forward, mid-sized boutique law firm which specializes in real estate, complex civil litigation including construction defect litigation, workers compensation defense, and appeals.

An ideal experienced Senior Attorney is expected to efficiently digest voluminous documents, conduct research, and produce high-quality work product with attention to detail. The successful candidate would be one that has a minimum of three (3) years of general liability and/or construction defect litigation experience. You will work with a team directed by the Practice Director on a variety of litigation matters. Mentoring, firm resources and technology platforms will be available as well as a firm committed to excellence and continued education for all.

This position presents each of the following RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead counsel status on cases, under the guidance of senior litigators and Partners.
  • Client contact, depositions, mediations, etc.
  • Collaboration with all firm attorneys to explore various practice areas of interest.
  • Individual growth opportunities with a relatively young, nimble and growing firm, which are tied to your performance.
  • Handling the defense of construction defect claims along with commercial litigation matters.
  • Networking and community involvement encouraged and rewarded.

This position requires each of the following QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Skill set which allows for independence or ability to grow skills with guidance.
  • Litigation and construction defect experience preferred. Interest in appellate practice a plus.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
  • Excellent research, drafting and writing skills (writing sample required)
  • Take and defend depositions, attend court hearings and mediations.
  • Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery requests and responses to discovery.
  • Efficiently digest voluminous documents in construction or commercial disputes in furtherance of developing resolution strategy.
  • Be responsible for timely tracking of billable time in accordance with relevant billing guidelines.
  • Prepare timely reports to and communicate with clients.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be a member of the Florida Bar in good standing.

Compensation Package: The firm has a 1600 hour/year billable hour requirement and an objective bonus plan for hours exceeded above that minimum. Firm also has established progression criteria independent of years of employment at the firm.

Pay: $125,000.00 - $160,000.00 per year
