Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Civil Litigation Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting complex civil litigation cases by managing case files, conducting legal research, drafting documents, and coordinating with attorneys and clients. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys in preparing for trials, hearings, and depositions by organizing case files, evidence, and exhibits
- Conduct comprehensive legal research using LexisNexis, and other legal research tools to support case strategies.
- Draft and review legal documents including pleadings, discovery requests, subpoenas, deposition notices, and correspondence with precision and clarity.
- Manage case management systems in Clio to track deadlines, filings, and case progress effectively.
- Coordinate interviews with clients, witnesses, and experts to gather pertinent information for ongoing cases.
- Review and organize documents for discovery processes, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Perform administrative tasks such as calendaring depositions, hearings, and other litigation deadlines, data entry, filing, proofreading, transcription, and maintaining organized document management systems.
Requirements
- Proven paralegal experience with a strong background in civil litigation or related practice areas such as personal injury law, mold related cases, contract law, and Landlord and Tenant law.
- Familiarity with legal administrative processes including document review, case management software Clio.
- Excellent research skills utilizing LexisNexis, and other legal research platforms.
- Strong writing skills for drafting pleadings, memos, and correspondence with attention to detail.
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage multiple cases simultaneously while meeting deadlines.
- Effective interviewing techniques to gather accurate information from clients and witnesses.
- Ability to request medical record affidavits for cases.
- Knowledge of various practice areas such as, personal injury, landlord-tenant law, and contract law are highly recommended.
Pay: From $50,000.00 per year
