Position Summary
The Senior Learning Management Systems Administrator role offers comprehensive technical support for applications, acts as a liaison, provides technical training, and facilitates the coordination of Central New Mexico Community College’s (CNM) Learning Management Systems. This position collaborates closely with both internal and external customers of ITS. Additionally, the incumbent assists in the development, monitoring, and revision of CNM's LMS applications programs. The role also provides technical guidance to LMS staff.
Duties & Responsibilities
Field service request tickets from users requesting assistance with course uploads, course creation, missing content, accessibility, acting as technical liaison between CNM staff and our vendors as needed.
Provides technical leadership, operational support and guidance to end-users in the resolution of technical issues.
Identifies, diagnoses, and troubleshoots problems by working with vendor technical support.
Architects, implements and monitors integrations from Student Information Systems.
Troubleshoots any issues with SIS extract files or integrations with LMS, analyzing and interpreting data for accuracy and resolving any inconsistencies.
Implements and maintains integrations between the LMS and other applications.
Manages multiple LMS environments to facilitate testing and exploration of new and updated features by CNM staff and faculty.
Supports CNM departments with both cred and non-credit course enrollment in the LMS. Provides technical support and administration for other learning software related.
Serves as technical lead on projects related to the LMS. Participates in departmental or campus-wide technical meetings as required.
Evaluates and analyzes application updates and assesses the impact of changes.
Works with stakeholders, both technical and end-users, with testing and scheduling, installation and testing all components of application updates. Confirms that vendor integrations function correctly after updates.
Manages the vendor relationship for LMSs, integrations, and related applications including tasks related to implementation, operational support, and updates.
Participates in ITS technical teams and college-wide technical groups to discuss, plan and coordinate the implementation of technology to support instructional technology needs.
Pursues professional development; attends conferences, training events, follows evolving trends in technology, and maintains currency with LMS applications and vendor integrations by attending peer group meetings, subscribing to online newsletters, and participating in online communities.
Provides 24x7 on-call support on a rotating basis for department emergency on-call and team tech on duty.
Provides day-to-day supervision and support of LMS staff, related administrative approvals such as leave requests and time sheets, provides management support and guidance, and training and professional development while ensuring suitable staff coverage. Oversees/mentors/guides LMS staff, providing technical leadership, guidance, and support for the diagnosis, maintenance, and testing of institutional software. Demonstrates through daily actions and interactions with others the desire and need to follow standard operating procedures and uphold the goals of the department and institution.
This position supervises LMS Applications Administrators.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
Associate’s degree or higher in Management Information Systems (MIS) or related industry
AND
Five (5) years of work experience
A Criminal Background Check is required for this position
