Senior Maintenance Technician

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and technically strong Senior Maintenance Technician to support our piping manufacturing operations in Mesaieed. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, availability, and safe operation of production equipment, including extrusion, injection moulding, and auxiliary machinery.

The successful candidate will play a key role in preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting complex equipment issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives across the plant.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on extrusion lines, injection moulding machines, and supporting equipment.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
  • Support installation, commissioning, and modification of production machines and utilities.
  • Ensure minimal downtime by responding promptly to equipment breakdowns.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, breakdown reports, and spare parts records accurately.
  • Coordinate with production teams to plan maintenance activities and shutdowns.
  • Supervise and guide junior technicians and maintenance staff when required.
  • Ensure availability and proper use of tools, spare parts, and maintenance equipment.
  • Follow all HSE policies, procedures, and safe maintenance practices.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Support audits, inspections, and compliance with quality and safety standards.
  • Liaise with external service providers and equipment vendors as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Maintenance Engineer or Manager.

What We’re Looking For

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Diploma or technical certification in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of maintenance experience, preferably in plastic or piping manufacturing.
  • Strong hands-on experience with extrusion and injection moulding machines.
  • Solid knowledge of mechanical systems, electrical controls, hydraulics, and pneumatics.
  • Ability to read technical drawings, manuals, and electrical schematics.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Leadership and mentoring capability.
  • Good communication and coordination skills.
  • Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting.
  • Working knowledge of HSE requirements in an industrial environment.
