A. Sales Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement annual and quarterly sales plans.
- Set territory-wise sales targets and monitor achievement.
- Identify new market opportunities (urban, rural, institutional, horeca).
- Plan product launches and promotional activities.
B. Distribution & Channel Management
- Appoint and manage distributors, super-stockists, and dealers.
- Ensure primary and secondary sales growth.
- Monitor distributor ROI and stock movement.
- Improve market penetration and numeric distribution.
- Handle modern trade and general trade channels.
C. Team Management
- Recruit, train, and lead Area Sales Managers (ASM), Sales Officers, and field executives.
- Conduct regular sales reviews and performance tracking.
- Set KPIs and ensure achievement.
- Provide on-ground coaching and market visits.
D. Revenue & Profitability
- Achieve sales volume and value targets.
- Control trade schemes, discounts, and promotional budgets.
- Improve gross margins.
- Monitor credit limits and outstanding collections.
E. Market Development
- Conduct competitor analysis (pricing, schemes, branding).
- Track performance of brands like:
- Tata Consumer Products (Tata Tea)
- Hindustan Unilever Limited (Brooke Bond, Taj Mahal)
- Wagh Bakri Tea Group
- Identify consumer trends in packet tea, loose tea, and premium blends.
- Recommend product positioning and pricing strategies.
F. Reporting & MIS
- Prepare weekly and monthly sales reports.
- Analyze sales data, territory performance, and market feedback.
- Present sales forecasts to management.
- Maintain CRM and ERP sales records.
G. Institutional & Bulk Sales (If Applicable)
- Develop HoReCa, corporate, and government supply channels.
- Negotiate annual contracts and rate agreements.
