The Senior Manager, People Strategy at JM Family serves as a strategic HR partner to business leaders, People Strategy Directors, HR Relationship Managers, and Centers of Excellence (COEs) to align people strategies with Southeast Toyota Distributors , LLC Vehicle & Parts Operations (VPO) business goals. Focus areas include organizational effectiveness, workforce and talent planning, and leadership development. Drive and prioritize HR initiatives, leveraging data insights and emerging trends to inform talent decisions and anticipate future workforce needs. Lead change management, coach critical leaders, and foster associate engagement through targeted strategies in talent acquisition, retention, and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with business leaders, People Strategy Directors, HR Relationship Managers, and COEs to align people strategies with VPO business goals, focusing on organizational effectiveness, workforce and talent planning, and leader development

  • Drive and influence people strategy initiatives, managing portfolio work and prioritization in partnership with HR and business stakeholders

  • Assess and implement new processes, technologies, and automation to improve HR efficiency and accuracy

  • Use data-driven insights to inform strategic talent decisions and anticipate future workforce needs based on trends in production, technology, and demographics

  • Tailor enterprise HR practices to the production context, considering operational realities, workforce dynamics, and culture

  • Support implementation of COE and BU strategies within production teams, ensuring effective adoption and alignment

  • Provide leadership coaching to critical (“blue box”) leaders in the business and actively drive leader development, partnering with PSD and HRRM

  • Assess production teams’ readiness for organizational changes and tailor change management approaches to minimize disruption and maximize adoption

  • Connect emerging research to people challenges and leadership opportunities Develop targeted strategies for talent acquisition, retention, and development in production environments

  • Lead strategic partnerships by assembling cross-functional HR teams to deliver on business objectives

  • Evaluate current workforce capabilities against future needs to identify skill gaps and partner with COEs to design upskilling and reskilling strategies

  • Foster a culture of trust and transparency to strengthen associate relations and reduce third-party representation risk

  • Design engagement initiatives for frontline associates, incorporating feedback and recognition tailored to production environments

  • Align people strategies with safety, compliance, and performance expectations on the shop floor

Qualifications:

  • 8+ years of HR experience with consulting or leadership roles in HR, organizational effectiveness, strategy, production , or manufacturing

  • BA/BS degree required ; Master’s preferred

  • Demonstrated success influencing senior leaders, building trust and credibility, and driving strategic outcomes

  • Strong executive presence, relationship management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to balance competing priorities and make sound trade-offs

  • Strategic and systems thinker with proven ability to design and execute complex initiatives and provide integrated business solutions

  • Skilled in consulting, contracting, and business relationship management, leveraging data and insights to drive decisions

  • Entrepreneurial, innovative, and curious, with a track record of identifying opportunities and proposing forward-thinking solutions

  • Collaborative, partner-oriented, and adaptable, thriving in fast-paced, ambiguous environments

  • Distinctive data analysis and storytelling capabilities, translating insights into action

  • Knowledge of talent and workforce planning, org design, team effectiveness, and change management

  • Proven project and change leader with strong written, verbal, and presentation communication skills

  • Detail-oriented, process-driven, and accountable for achieving results through others
