Job Summary
The Senior Mechanic will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) and Heavy Commercial Vehicles (HCV). This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to train junior mechanics while ensuring high-quality service standards.
Key Responsibilities1. Vehicle Diagnosis & Repair
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and technical issues in LCV & HCV vehicles.
- Perform engine overhauling, clutch, brake, suspension, and transmission repairs.
- Carry out routine maintenance services as per OEM guidelines.
- Ensure all repairs meet quality and safety standards.
2. Workshop Operations
- Allocate tasks to junior mechanics and guide them during repairs.
- Ensure proper usage of tools, equipment, and diagnostic devices.
- Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in the workshop area.
3. Quality Control
- Conduct final inspection of vehicles before delivery.
- Ensure all repair jobs are documented accurately in job cards.
- Adhere to company SOPs and OEM service procedures.
4. Training & Support
- Train and mentor junior mechanics and helpers.
- Provide technical support during complex repairs.
- Share updated technical knowledge and service bulletins with the team.
5. Customer Interaction
- Explain repair issues and solutions to customers when required.
- Ensure customer satisfaction through quality workmanship.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- IT I {MMV} / Diploma in Automobile or Mechanical Engineering.
- Minimum 2- 4 years hands-on experience in LCV & HCV vehicles.
- Strong knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to handle complex mechanical and technical repairs.
- Good communication and team leadership skills
