Job Title: Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Reports To: Associate Director (Mechanical)

Purpose of the Job

• Be an integral part of the mechanical engineering design team.
• Lead the mechanical engineering design process during the pre-contract stage.
• Participate actively and effectively in technical meetings.

Principal Accountabilities

• Timely preparation of design deliverables for ongoing projects.
• Ensure completion of design reviews and deliverables on schedule.
• Coordinate mechanical design, prepare technical reports and presentations, and participate in design workshops with internal teams and project stakeholders as required.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Gather technical information for ongoing projects in collaboration with all stakeholders.
• Develop mechanical concept design schemes.
• Participate in concept design presentations to obtain stakeholder approvals.
• Compile and review design review comments and communicate them to all relevant parties.
• Ensure all design comments are incorporated into the latest issued design documents.
• Maintain compliance of mechanical designs with project briefs, design guidelines, and authority requirements.
• Attend and contribute to regular design team meetings.
• Participate in Value Engineering workshops and incorporate decisions into the mechanical design package.
• Provide technical support to post-contract supervision teams during construction.
• Report activities and provide feedback to your immediate superior in a timely manner.
• Carry out additional engineering tasks as assigned by the line manager.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Professional membership in an accredited international institute.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong written and spoken English proficiency.
• 10–12 years of design experience in HVAC, Plumbing, Firefighting, and Combustion Gas systems with a proven track record of completed projects.
• Familiarity with local and international codes and regulations.
• Proficient in computer-aided design (CAD) software relevant to mechanical engineering design.
