Senior Mechanical Designer

Senior Designer (Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing) (EXEMPT)
Location: Baltimore MD and Norfolk VA (hybrid)
Job Type: Fulltime with benefits
Salary Range: $80k to $130k (based on experience)
Reports to: Board of Directors, Principal, or Market Sector Leader

Note:
All employees work three days in office and two days remote after the onboarding period.
We do not typically consider relocations unless someone has family or something else tying them to the area. We don’t consider relocations just for the job.
Our process is to have an introductory Teams call and then an in-person interview.

Responsibilities:
Performs work involving the application of all conventional aspects of engineering to the functional area of the assignment. Exercises judgment in the independent evaluation, selection and substantial adaptation and modification of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Conceptualizes the initial design approach for major phases of large facilities type projects, or has overall responsibility for the mechanical engineering work. Plans, schedules, conducts or coordinates engineering work.
Supervises the design and ongoing progress of a project, including the coordination of the project with City, State, and County officials, and other outside agencies. Resolves a variety of complex problems, (i.e., conflicting design requirements, difficult coordination requirements).
Serves as a liaison between clients and agencies, subcontractors, and design teams.
Reviews plans and prepares or reviews technical specifications, contract documents, and estimates.
Participates in bidding and construction administration; observes project action on site.
Supervises the work of less experienced engineers and/or technical support personnel assigned to the project.

Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:
10 years of systems design.

Physical Requirements:
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
