Job Title: Senior Mechanical Engineer

Location: Dubai, UAE

Job Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer will be responsible for the design, review, coordination, and supervision of all mechanical systems—including HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection—for villa and high-rise building projects. The role ensures all systems meet project requirements, client specifications, codes, and standards, and are delivered on time and within budget.

Key Responsibilities

Design & Technical Duties

  • Lead and manage the design, installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and LPG systems) for villas and high-rise developments.
  • Review and approve mechanical design drawings, shop drawings, and material submittals.
  • Ensure compliance with local authority regulations (ASHRAE, NFPA, SMACNA, IPC, etc.) and project specifications.
  • Perform heat load calculations, static pressure calculations, and equipment sizing using relevant software (e.g., HAP, Ductulator, Elite, etc.).
  • Prepare BOQs, technical reports, and mechanical system schematics.

Project Coordination

  • Coordinate with architects, civil, electrical, and structural teams to ensure smooth integration of MEP services.
  • Attend design coordination meetings and resolve technical conflicts.
  • Supervise mechanical works on site and ensure adherence to design, quality, and safety standards.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to ensure project deliverables are met.

Quality & Compliance

  • Conduct site inspections, testing & commissioning, and snag rectifications.
  • Ensure proper documentation of QA/QC processes and compliance with project specifications.
  • Implement energy-efficient and sustainable mechanical design solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum 8–12 years of experience in mechanical engineering, with at least 5 years in villa and high-rise building projects.
  • Proven experience in design review and site supervision for MEP services.
  • Strong knowledge of international mechanical codes and standards.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit MEP, HAP, and MS Office applications.
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Membership in a professional body (e.g., ASHRAE, ASME, or equivalent) is an advantage.
