Position Summary

The Senior Mechanical Engineer is responsible for managing and overseeing mechanical engineering works, ensuring that installation, testing, and commissioning activities are executed in compliance with approved drawings, specifications, contract requirements, project schedules, and applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coordinate all mechanical works including HVAC, plumbing, firefighting, and mechanical systems (as applicable).
  • Review and approve shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and technical documents.
  • Ensure mechanical works comply with project specifications, authority requirements, quality standards, and HSE regulations.
  • Coordinate with civil, electrical, and other disciplines to resolve design and site coordination issues.
  • Monitor project progress and support planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Conduct inspections, testing, and commissioning activities, ensuring proper documentation and handover.
  • Review quantities, assist in preparation of progress claims, variations, and cost estimates.
  • Liaise with consultants, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers on technical matters.
  • Identify risks, propose solutions, and ensure timely closure of technical and quality issues.
  • Mentor and guide junior engineers and site staff.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Minimum 10 years of UAE experience in mechanical/MEP works on construction or EPC projects.
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, plumbing, firefighting, and relevant international codes (ASHRAE, NFPA, etc.).
  • Familiarity with local authority regulations and approval processes.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, MS Office, and document control systems (e.g. Aconex).
