Senior Mechanical Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Mechanical Engineer with a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in mechanical design review and supervision. The ideal candidate must hold a Grade A classification in Qatar and possess strong expertise in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and fire protection systems, along with extensive experience in authority approvals, multidisciplinary coordination, and technical design review for building projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Mechanical Design Review

• Review and approve mechanical designs, calculations, reports, and drawings for HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems.
• Verify compliance with QCS, NFPA, ASHRAE, QCDD requirements, and other applicable standards.
• Prepare tender documents, technical specifications, BOQs, and engineering reports.
• Identify design deficiencies and provide technical comments and recommendations.
• Ensure design coordination between all engineering disciplines.

2. Authority Coordination & Approvals

• Handle submissions and approvals with relevant authorities, including:
• Qatar Civil Defence Department (QCDD)
• Kahramaa
• Ashghal
• Building Permit Complex (BPC)
• Respond to authority comments and ensure timely approvals.

3. Design Coordination

• Coordinate with Architectural, Structural, Electrical, and other disciplines.
• Review multidisciplinary drawings to ensure proper integration of mechanical systems.
• Attend design coordination meetings and provide technical solutions.

4. Site Supervision & Technical Support

• Review shop drawings, material submittals, and method statements.
• Conduct site inspections to ensure compliance with approved designs and specifications.
• Resolve technical issues during construction and fit-out stages.
• Support project teams during testing, commissioning, and handover.

5. Documentation & Quality Control

• Preapre and review as-built drawings.
• Prepare technical reports and engineering recommendations.
• Ensure all project documentation complies with company and authority requirements.
• Maintain quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong expertise in HVAC, Plumbing, Drainage, and Fire Fighting systems.
• Excellent design review and technical evaluation skills.
• Thorough understanding of local authority requirements and approval procedures.
• Strong leadership, communication, and coordination abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in engineering consultancy.
• Grade A Engineer classification in Qatar is mandatory.
• Strong experience in mechanical design review and authority approvals.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and relevant engineering software.
