Senior Mechanical Engineer-Rotating Equipment

Location: Ras Laffan, Qatar
Employment Type: Full-Time 18 months Contract (Extendable)
Salary: QAR 15,000 per month + FAT (Company Accommodation & Transportation)
Working Hours: 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Work Schedule: Saturday to Thursday

Job Summary

Our client, a leading multinational engineering company involved in major Oil & Gas projects, is seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer. The successful candidate will provide technical expertise in the operation, maintenance, reliability, and troubleshooting of rotating equipment, including pumps, compressors, turbines, and mechanical seals. This role is critical to ensuring plant reliability, equipment integrity, and the successful execution of leak management and asset integrity programs within oil and gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor and maintain the integrity, reliability, and performance of rotating equipment.
• Develop and implement maintenance and reliability strategies for pumps, compressors, turbines, and associated rotating machinery.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot issues related to vibration, lubrication systems, mechanical seals, bearings, alignment, and equipment performance.
• Conduct root cause failure analysis (RCFA) and support corrective and preventive maintenance actions.
• Review vendor documentation, technical specifications, and engineering deliverables.
• Ensure compliance with applicable API standards, company procedures, and industry best practices.
• Support equipment commissioning, startup, shutdown, and major maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with operations, maintenance, and reliability teams to optimize equipment performance and availability.
• Identify opportunities for equipment upgrades and reliability improvements.
• Prepare technical reports, recommendations, and engineering documentation.

Qualifications & ExperienceRequired Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in rotating equipment engineering within the oil & gas, petrochemical, refinery, LNG, or energy sectors.
• Strong knowledge of centrifugal and positive displacement pumps, compressors, gas turbines, mechanical seals, bearings, and lubrication systems.
• Familiarity with API standards and industry codes related to rotating equipment.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and technical reporting abilities.
