Senior Medical Assistant

Job Description

We are searching for a reliable, experienced Senior Medical Assistant to perform various office and clinical duties to keep our healthcare practice running efficiently. Working directly with practice staff to collect test samples, maintain patient records, explain common medical procedures to patients and assist in basic examinations. The ideal applicant will provide the highest quality customer service to patients, adhere to patient protocols and processes and effectively manager the volume of work without allowing quality to compromise.

Other responsibilities of the Medical Assistant role include:

• Update and maintain all digital client records
• Record patient information such as vital signs, weight and changes in medical history prior to each appointment
• Clean and prepare examination rooms prior to patient appointments
• Assist the nurse manager in maintaining the medical inventory and placing orders for new materials as needed
• Transcribe patient appointments
• Facilitate diagnostic tests and referrals to medical specialists
• Assist the Physician with fundamental patient care
• Maintain a clean and professional working environment
• Phlebotomy
• Stress tests, Audiometry & Spirometry a plus; will train and certify if needed

Minimum Qualifications

Experience working for a healthcare practice or hospital 7 years+

High level of professionalism

Strong customer service skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Competency in the use of electronic medical records (EMR) charting system

Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour

License/Certification:
