Senior Medical Assistant – Hematology/Oncology (Full-Time)

We are a patient-centered Hematology/Oncology practice in Toms River, NJ seeking an experienced, dependable Certified Medical Assistant for a long-term role on our team. This position is ideal for someone who values teamwork, communicates professionally, and takes pride in delivering excellent patient care in a specialty setting.

Responsibilities

Clinical

• Room patients and prepare them for provider visits
• Obtain and document vitals, relevant history, and medication reconciliation in the EMR
• Phlebotomy/blood draws and basic lab procedures may be required depending on clinic needs
• Support in-office workflow and assist the physician/team with day-to-day patient care

Administrative

• Schedule appointments and support patient flow
• Insurance verification and prior authorizations
• Maintain exam rooms, supplies, and a clean, organized clinical environment
• Assist with billing/office tasks as needed

Requirements

• Medical Assistant certification and experience required
• Comfortable in a busy outpatient setting with frequent patient interaction
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and ability to multitask
• Warm, professional communication with patients and coworkers
• EMR/computer proficiency (Epic experience is a plus)
• Comfort with phlebotomy is strongly preferred, as it may be needed at times
