Senior MEP Design Engineer (FEED/Detailed Engineering)

Client: One of the leading Oil & Gas consultants in Qatar

Role Summary

Seeking a highly experienced Senior MEP Engineer with 12+ years of consultancy background specializing in front-end engineering design (FEED) and detailed engineering for oil & gas projects. This position focuses strictly on engineering design and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and review of MEP design drawings (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) for major oil & gas facilities
• Conduct load calculations, layout development, equipment sizing, schematic diagrams, and detailed specifications
• Coordinate design inputs with architectural, structural, and civil disciplines to ensure integrated solutions
• Ensure designs comply with Qatari codes, international standards, and client project requirements
• Produce comprehensive BOQs, technical documentation, and design reports for FEED and detailed engineering phases
• Facilitate technical design meetings and provide clarifications during project stages
• Review and approve contractor/shop drawings related to MEP scope

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• Minimum 12 years+ experience in a design-focused role at consultancy firms, primarily within oil & gas sector
• Proven expertise in FEED and detailed engineering deliverables for complex oil & gas projects
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and other MEP design software
• Deep knowledge of local regulations (QCS), and international standards (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC)
• MMUP/UPDA certification or equivalent preferred

Note: We will only consider profiles with a focus on design engineering and oil & gas consultancy firms' experience. Profiles related to maintenance/supervisor, or site-related, are not considered for this position.
