Senior Operator

Job Purpose

To perform shift operation activities to run the plant to producethe required production quality& quantity as per the operation standard procedures and MSHEM procedure.

Also to take allEHSS and equipment montring actions to prevent EHSSincident or equipments failures. Behave proactive & conduct patrolling to assure plant safety, security & equipment conditions.

Key Accountabilities

Compliancewith MSHEMS Procedure:

• Comply with Maaden policies and MSHEMs procedures, quality procedures

• Be aware of all MSDS, MSHEM in general and be fully familiar with MSHEM elements related to his position and ensures full compliance to above MSHEM Systems, Practices and Procedures.

• Ensures MSHEM procedures compliance in his area with right tools & equipment to perform their task safely.

Routine Job Compliance:

• Understands importance of field operator role for safe and successful functioning of organization and commitment for his job in a safe manner and perform to his potential to contribute to the organization development.

• Regularly perform unit survey & monitoring to ensure safety & unit equipment reliability. Checks and inspects the operation parameters to ensure their compliance with the instructions, SOP’s & normal operation parameters / conditions.

• Ensure field log sheets, operation checklist are recorded timely, accurately and countersign accordingly.

• Take care of normal operations, start-up and shutdown activities at allocated field section, monitoring field conditions and reporting to the control room for the safe and smooth running of equipment and machines and fully compliance to Standard operating procedures (SOP`s), Written and Verbal instructions, Guidelines.

OperationTeam Communication:

• Receives handover from previous shift, reads logbook, handover log and identifies items / activities requiring follow-up.

• Reviews the last 24 hours operations performance and communicates to his supervisor about any abnormality in his area.

• Report clear information about Abnormalities of plant operational parameters and analysis results to Shift supervisor for timely correctives actions.

• Keep Plant Shift Supervisor / Lead Operator informed of all EHSS incidents, Key plant operational problems / concerns and plant & equipment performance parameters during the shift.

• Understand the consequences / effects of parameters. If safe operating limits are exceeded, informs DCS Operator, Lead Operator & supervisor immediately for actions, takes appropriate corrective action and log them.

Abnormality Assessment and Actions:

• Maintain equipment and the area under control in a safe operable condition and identify all reliability issues.

• Observe equipment conditions for any changes in sound, leaks or other abnormality & inform DCS Operator, Lead Operator and Shift Supervisor.

• Be aware of Environmental requirements for the area. Report any Spills, Waste generation.

• Handle plant emergencies, take necessary action in coordination with DCS Operator, Lead Operator and Shift supervisor to ensure safety and reliability.

Quality Knowledge:

• Complies with the MAADEN policy, procedure, SOP, checklist, data log sheets etc. Knows the significance of on-line process analyzers and Lab result on product quality and take corrective action accordingly.

• Collects various unit process samples as per schedule and deliver samples to Lab (QA) on a routine basis or as per requirements.

• Report clear information about Abnormalities of plant operational parameters, quality upsets and analysis results to Shift supervisor for timely correctives actions .

Maintenance Activities Coordination:

• Follows startup & shutdown procedures and JSA Requirements for preparing systems –isolation, logging out, draining and purging pipelines for equipment / line safe handover for Maintenance activities, in consultation with DCS Operator.

• Assists maintenance staff for hot and cold vessel entry and gives any required approvals in compliance with standard operating procedures.

• Follows up on maintenance activities and ensures jobs are performed safely and efficiently. Makes fully 100% available/witness during hot jobs in his area.

• Ensure that all maintenance jobs are completed in assigned area with adequate housekeeping, Work Permits closing and everything is in order for safe Start-up. Report to the DCS Operator/Shift Supervisor.

Minimum Qualifications, Experience and Competencies

Minimum Qualifications:

Technical Diploma in relevant field.

Minimum Experience:

• 3+ years of experience in operation activities within power and utilities plant
