Job Summary:
The Senior Pharmacist is responsible for supervising pharmacy operations, ensuring safe dispensing of medicines, maintaining regulatory compliance, managing pharmacy staff, and supporting quality patient care services within the hospital.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily pharmacy operations (IP & OP pharmacy).
- Ensure accurate dispensing of prescriptions as per doctor’s orders.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain proper inventory control.
- Verify purchase orders and ensure proper storage of medicines.
- Ensure compliance with the Drugs and Cosmetics Act and other applicable regulations.
- Maintain proper records of narcotic and scheduled drugs.
- Train and guide junior pharmacists and pharmacy assistants.
- Coordinate with doctors and nursing staff regarding medication-related queries.
- Monitor expiry dates and ensure removal of near-expiry drugs.
- Ensure implementation of hospital pharmacy SOPs.
- Handle vendor communications and medicine procurement.
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional ethics.
Qualification:
- B.Pharm / M.Pharm / Pharm.D
- Registered Pharmacist (State Pharmacy Council)
- Valid Pharmacy License
Experience:
- Minimum 5–8 years of experience in hospital pharmacy
- At least 2 years in supervisory role preferred
Skills Required:
- Strong knowledge of medicines and drug interactions
- Inventory management skills
- Leadership and team management
- Knowledge of hospital billing & pharmacy software
- Good communication skills
- Attention to detail
Salary:
As per hospital norms and experience.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ₹25,000.00 - ₹30,000.00 per month
