Senior PHP Laravel Backend Developer ( Node.js / AI is a plus )

Position Overview

HiQain is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Backend Developer (Male) with strong expertise in PHP Laravel for backend systems and application development.

The ideal candidate will lead the development of scalable web applications, APIs, and enterprise-level systems using Laravel as the core framework. In addition, the candidate should have working expertise in Node.js, along with hands-on experience in WordPress and Shopify for CMS-based projects when required.

This role is backend-focused, with Laravel as the primary technology stack.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop robust backend systems using PHP Laravel
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and scalable web applications
• Architect database structures and optimize queries (MySQL/PostgreSQL)
• Develop and maintain admin dashboards and custom business applications
• Implement authentication systems, role-based access, and security best practices
• Integrate third-party APIs, payment gateways, CRMs, and ERP systems
• Utilize Node.js for real-time features, microservices, or supporting applications
• Optimize performance using caching, queues, and background jobs
• Collaborate with frontend developers to integrate user-facing elements
• Handle deployment, version control (Git), and server management
• Provide technical guidance and review code for best practices
• Support CMS projects (WordPress & Shopify) when required

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
• 4–6+ years of professional backend development experience
• Strong expertise in PHP Laravel (Core focus)
• MVC architecture
• REST API development
• Authentication & Authorization
• Queues, Jobs & Scheduling
• Caching & Performance Optimization
• Experience with Node.js for backend services or real-time applications is a plus
• Strong database management skills (MySQL, PostgreSQL)
• Experience with Git and deployment workflows
• Understanding of server environments (cPanel, VPS, Linux servers)
• Good English communication skills
• Ability to work night shifts consistently

Secondary / Supporting Skills (Preferred)

• WordPress custom theme & plugin development
• Shopify theme customization and app integration
• Knowledge of JavaScript frameworks (React/Vue is a plus)
• Experience with AWS, DigitalOcean, or cloud infrastructure
• Familiarity with Docker or CI/CD pipelines
