Senior Piping Engineer (6 months contract)

Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Contract Duration: Minimum 6 months with potential for extension or transition to another project

Location: JLT Dubai Office

Working Hours: 9.6 Hours per day (including breaks), 5 days per week

Start Date: Immediate or within 1 month

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and review piping design, layouts, material specifications, and stress analyses for oil and gas facilities.
  • Prepare and check engineering deliverables including piping material specifications (PMS), line lists, MTOs, and datasheets.
  • Perform piping design calculations and stress analysis using relevant software (CAESAR II or equivalent).
  • Ensure that piping layouts consider constructability, operability, safety, and maintenance requirements.
  • Review vendor documents and drawings, ensuring compliance with project and client specifications.
  • Coordinate with process, mechanical, civil, electrical, and instrumentation teams to integrate piping designs.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers.
  • Support construction and commissioning teams with technical queries (TQs, RFIs) and field engineering solutions.
  • Participate in HAZOPs, 3D model reviews, and design audits.
  • Ensure all designs comply with international standards (ASME, API, ANSI, ISO, etc.) and client requirements.
  • Contribute to lessons learned and continuous improvement initiatives within the piping discipline.

In addition to the responsibilities listed herein, the employee may be required to perform other ad-hoc tasks as needed or directed by the supervisor or management.
These tasks will be within the reasonable scope of the employee's skills, capabilities, and role within the organization.
The intent of this provision is to allow for flexibility and adaptability in meeting the dynamic needs of the organization, ensuring that operational requirements can be met efficiently.
All such tasks will be assigned considering the employee's current workload and with respect to their professional development.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related discipline.
  • Possess 8–12 years of piping engineering experience, with at least 5 years in EPC/EPCM projects for the oil and gas or petrochemical industry.
  • Demonstrated track record in piping design, layout, material selection, and stress analysis.
  • Experience with Middle East oil and gas projects is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in piping design software such as PDMS, E3D, SP3D, and AutoCAD Plant 3D.
  • Proficiency in stress analysis software such as CAESAR II or equivalent.
  • Strong knowledge of ASME, API, ANSI, ASTM, and other international standards.
  • Familiarity with 3D modeling, isometric extraction, and review tools such as
  • Navisworks and SmartPlant Review.
  • Proficiency in MS Office for documentation and reporting.
