Position Overview

As a Senior Plumbing Design Engineer, you will lead the design of plumbing systems for multifamily and large-scale projects across the Bay Area. You’ll be responsible for system layouts, sizing, material specifications, code compliance, permitting, and cross-discipline coordination. This role requires strong technical expertise, accuracy, and the ability to deliver high-quality designs on schedule while collaborating with architects, contractors, and field teams.

Work Location / Flexibility

This position is based in the San Francisco Bay Area. On-site or hybrid (2 days per week in the office) is preferred, but for highly qualified candidates with strong relevant experience, we are open to a fully remote arrangement.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage plumbing systems for multifamily and commercial projects from concept through construction.
• Develop detailed designs, perform calculations, and recommend materials and solutions tailored to each project.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, plumbing codes, and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with clients, project managers, and internal teams to ensure seamless coordination.
• Assist with fabrication activities as needed to translate designs into reality.
• Manage multiple priorities and deliver accurate, high-quality work on schedule.

Must-Have Qualifications

• 5+ years of plumbing design experience on multifamily or large-scale projects.
• Strong proficiency with AutoCAD; Revit experience highly desirable.
• In-depth knowledge of plumbing codes, materials, and specifications.
• Proven ability to deliver accurate, code-compliant designs across multiple projects.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

• Final pay is determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
• Salary range: $110,000 – $145,000 annually.
