Geode Capital Management, LLC is seeking an experienced Senior Portfolio Analyst with a technology focus on the Performance & Analytics Team. This role will assist with the architecture, development, and optimization of data-driven solutions in support of the various analytical efforts that help measure how efficiently our portfolios track their benchmarks. Reporting to the Manager, Portfolio Analytics, this role will partner with Portfolio Analysts, Quantitative Analysts and technology teams to design, implement and enhance technological solutions towards delivering advanced analytics and interactive dashboards. This effort will advance the team’s role towards Geode’s overall Investment and Risk management.
This is a hybrid work environment opportunity located in Boston, MA with a weekly in-office schedule of Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays and remote work availability on Mondays and Fridays.
Responsibilities:
- Lead modernization of research and portfolio analytics data, establishing scalable, history‑aware foundations and data products supporting quantitative research, back testing, performance analysis across the platform.
- Own data quality and readiness of our analytical tools end‑to‑end, defining standards for accuracy, lineage, versioning, performance to ensure outputs remain high quality and decision‑ready for IM stakeholders.
- Drive analytics and quantitative solutions to deliver prescriptive insights, predictive root‑cause analysis, translating outputs into real‑world context, partnering closely with Portfolio Analytics, Data, Technology to modernize workflows, scale adoption across the business.
- Own improvement of the team’s Python codebase by building shared libraries, increasing Snowflake adoption; optimizing performance, plus buildout of Tableau dashboards.
- Serve as a liaison to technology to ensure tools, processes, and practices align with firmwide requirements, best‑practice standards.
- Build and maintain interactive dashboards, visualizations using Python, SQL, Tableau to deliver clarity, accuracy, and actionable insights.
- Lead data‑infrastructure modernization initiatives, drive automation, implement best practices in governance, security.
- Mentor junior analysts, foster a culture of innovation, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
- Partner with technology and business teams to ensure alignment, clear communication, and effective prioritization of analytics initiatives.
- Promote standardization, scalability, consistency, and reliability across analytics solutions enterprise‑wide.
Skills You Bring:
- 6+ years of experience in data analytics, data engineering, or a related technology-focused role within the equity asset management industry
- Advanced proficiency in Python, SQL and Tableau/PowerBI
- Demonstrated hands-on experience with cloud data platforms (Snowflake, AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Expertise in building and optimizing large-scale data models, working with structured and unstructured data
- Strong background in data visualization and BI tools (Tableau, Power BI, or similar), with a portfolio of impactful dashboards and analytics solutions
- Experience with statistical analysis is a plus
- Understanding the Investment Management process/life cycle is a plus
- Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate ambiguous business questions into clear technical solutions
- Strong organizational and project management skills, with a track record of delivering high-quality analytics under tight deadlines
- Effective communicator, able to explain complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Passion for technology innovation, intellectual curiosity, and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset
