Senior Principal Software Engineer

Purpose of the job:

The purpose of this role is to design, configure and integrate AUTOSAR Basic Software (BSW) components within automotive ECU projects, ensuring compliance with OEM requirements (BMW, VW,…etc) and delivering robust, secure, and production-ready software solutions.

The engineer will play a key role in ensuring seamless integration between MCAL, BSW, RTE, and application layers, while supporting cybersecurity, diagnostics, and communication stacks.

Job Responsibilities & Duties:

1. Configure AUTOSAR BSW modules using DaVinci Configurator / Developer
2. Configure AUTOSAR Communication, Diagnostics and Memory stacks
3. Configure RTE layer and creating SWC ARXML with Davinci developer.
4. Configure and integrate BMW BAC modules within BSW layer.
5. Update BAC and SIP packages during development time.
6. Participate in SW architecture design.
7. Configure BMW cyber security stack is a plus ( SecOC, Crypto Stack, Key Management, Secure Boot and signature verification handling)
8. Troubleshoot issues to resolution, Strong problem solving and root cause analysis.

Education:

A Bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering /Computer Engineering /Computer Science or an equivalent combination of education/experience is required.

Experience:

7+ Years of experience in Automotive software development with Minimum 3 years of experience working with BMW Architecture and BMW BAC Modules.

Skills and Abilities:

1. Excellent knowledge of communication and Diagnostics stacks is a must.
2. Excellent knowledge of CAN FD and Ethernet is a must.
3. Excellent knowledge in BMW BAC modules is a must.
4. Excellent knowledge in BMW diagnostic requirements implementation according to ZEDIS.
5. Excellent knowledge in ( SecOC, Crypto Stack, Key Management, Secure Boot and signature verification handling) is plus.
6. Very good English language (spoken and written) is required.
7. Candidates should have the flexibility to travel for work in different places inside or outside Egypt.
