Purpose
Optimize plant operations, equipment and Standard Operating Conditions (SOC’s) that ensure our customers receive quality product every time. Promote and lead standardization and relentless continuous process improvement by promoting best practices through Continuous Improvement activities. This position coaches, teaches and mentors other engineer and operators, and advises senior leadership to ensure best business practices. This position’s performance results will be measured in these specific key areas: (1) reduced internal rejects and customer complaints, (2) increased Rate, (3) reduced Yield Loss, and (4) increases in Cpk for key process and product parameters.
Areas of Responsibility / Tasks
Performance must reflect appropriate level of expertise and achievement of the desired results for the items listed below:
1. General Policy
1. Safety
i. Help transfer best process and equipment practices across production lines.
ii. Work with S & E Coordinator, where necessary, to update PPE requirements.
iii. Implement necessary environmental controls to avoid pollution and contamination.
2. Quality & Product Development
i. Ensure customers receive same formulations and finished product every time, following SOCs.
ii. Coordinate with Commercial Teams to ensure all customer requirements are being consistently met.
iii. Use data and the Voice of Customer (internal and external) to determine where improvements are necessary, initiate corrective action and measure success.
3. Process Engineering
i. Support equipment & process design during project phase.
ii. Support project activities like budget, scope & schedule.
iii. Supervise process operational conditions for production lines.
4. Operations
i. Ensure plant is “starting where they stopped” on all production runs and that SOC’s are updated in timely manner to reflect actual, optimal and sustainable run conditions.
ii. Support Plant Manager on KPI goals as related to process improvements through CIT team leadership and involvement. Focus on Job Rate, Yield Loss, Safety and Quality.
iii. Supports utilization of Company ERP’s systems, and ensures correct and consistent use on shop floor.
iv. Drive improvements via Management by Walking Around (MBWA).
v. Uphold the Blue Polymers Code of Conduct standards.
vi. Other duties as assigned by the Plant Manager.
Minimum Qualifications/ Education / Experience / Certifications
1. Education:
a. Bachelor’s Degree in technical field is preferred.
2. Experience:
a. Working primarily on manufacturing shop floor and not behind desk.
b. Demonstrated leadership capabilities.
c. Must possess excellent interpersonal, people management and problem solving skills.
d. Must have excellent written and verbal communication capabilities.
e. Detail oriented, system thinker, disciplined, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
f. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, ERP’s)

3. Schedules may vary from week to week based on business demands in excess of 40 hours with or without notice.
4. All injuries regardless of severity must be reported to your Supervisor/HR immediately.
