Senior Procurement Engineer
Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management

Identify, evaluate, and qualify suppliers for engineered components, materials, and services.

Develop and execute sourcing strategies to achieve cost savings and supply chain optimization.

Lead supplier negotiations on pricing, terms, and long-term agreements.

Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness).
2. Technical Procurement Support

Collaborate with engineering teams to understand technical specifications and project requirements.

Review engineering drawings, BOMs, and material specifications to ensure accuracy in procurement.
-
Drive value engineering, alternative sourcing, and manufacturability improvements.
3. Project & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Support new product development (NPD) by procuring prototypes and production components.

Work closely with Quality, Engineering, Production, and Logistics teams to ensure operational alignment.
-
Manage procurement activities within project timelines and budgets.
4. Cost Control & Risk Management
-
Conduct cost analysis, benchmarking, and total cost of ownership (TCO) calculations.
-
Identify and mitigate supply chain risks, including single-source dependencies.
-
Ensure compliance with corporate procurement policies and industry standards.
5. Documentation & Process Improvement

Maintain accurate procurement records, contracts, and supplier documentation.

Improve procurement processes and implement best practices for efficiency.
-
Support audits, supplier assessments, and corrective action plans.
Qualifications & Skills
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial, or related field).

5–10+ years of procurement or supply chain experience in an engineering/manufacturing environment.

Experience with technical drawings, engineering specs, and manufacturing processes.
Technical Skills

Strong knowledge of sourcing industrial equipment, engineered parts, and materials.

Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Proficiency in cost analysis and supplier negotiation.
Soft Skills
-
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
-
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
-
Certification in Supply Chain (CIPS, APICS, CSCP) is a plus.
-
Experience with global sourcing and supplier development.
-
Knowledge of quality systems (ISO, PPAP, FAI) and procurement contracts.
