Duties of the Job
The duties comprise managing the procurement of all ID works including Interior Fit-Out, FF& E and OSE items, apart from:
1) Strategic Sourcing & Procurement
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on technical capability, cost, quality, and delivery performance.
- Manage RFQs (Requests for Quotation), RFPs (Requests for Proposal), and tenders.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, terms, and conditions with vendors.
- Develop and maintain procurement strategies aligned with project or business objectives.
2) Project & Stakeholder Coordination
- Collaborate with engineering, planning, project management, and quality teams to understand project needs.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials and services to meet project deadlines.
- Track procurement progress and report delays or issues to project managers.
3) Vendor Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and subcontractors.
- Evaluate vendor performance through metrics like on-time delivery, quality, and responsiveness.
- Resolve supplier-related issues, including quality concerns, delays, and non-conformities.
4) Cost Management & Budgeting
- Monitor and control procurement costs in line with budgets.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement value engineering strategies.
5) Compliance & Documentation
- Ensure procurement activities comply with company policies, industry standards, and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records, including contracts, purchase orders, invoices, and approvals.
- Support audits and documentation reviews.
6) Risk Management
- Identify procurement-related risks and develop mitigation strategies.
- Monitor supply chain disruptions and propose alternatives as needed.
Reporting Line: Procurement Director
Skills:
- Experience in Hotel project in UAE in the similar role.
- Technical & Engineering Knowledge: Strong understanding of engineering specifications, materials, and equipment used in your industry (e.g., oil & gas, construction, manufacturing).
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and documents.
- Proficiency in procurement processes, contract negotiation, and vendor management.
- Experience with international sourcing, Incoterms, and logistics (especially for global projects).
- Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills: Strong cost analysis and commercial evaluation abilities.
- Ability to resolve conflicts and make data-driven decisions.
- Communication & Interpersonal Skills
- Strong negotiation and persuasion abilities.
- Software & Tools Proficiency
- ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)
- Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Procurement platforms and supplier management tools
- Organizational & Time Management
- Ability to handle multiple procurement packages simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation.
Education Requirements (Including Certification requirements)
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
Experience in Years Specific Experience in Region
- Around 10 years with min. 5 years of UAE / Middle East Experience
