Key Responsibilities1. Procurement Strategy & Planning
- Develop and implement procurement strategies for joinery, carpentry, and fit-out materials and subcontracted works.
- Forecast material requirements in coordination with project managers, QS, and production teams.
- Perform market analysis to identify potential suppliers, pricing trends, and material availability.
2. Supplier Sourcing & Management
- Identify, evaluate, and prequalify suppliers for joinery and fit-out packages.
- Maintain a strong network of vendors and subcontractors locally and internationally.
- Conduct supplier audits to ensure capability, capacity, and compliance with quality standards.
3. Tendering & Negotiation
- Prepare RFQs, RFPs, and tender documents for materials and subcontract works.
- Conduct technical and commercial evaluations of quotations.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, payment terms, delivery schedules, and contract conditions to secure best value.
4. Contracting & Compliance
- Draft, review, and coordinate procurement contracts and purchase orders.
- Ensure procurement activities adhere to company policies and project requirements.
- Monitor supplier performance and enforce contractual obligations.
5. Logistics & Delivery Coordination
- Coordinate production lead times, delivery schedules, and shipping arrangements.
- Work with logistics teams to resolve delivery delays, shortages, or quality issues.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, invoices, and material tracking.
6. Cost & Risk Management
- Control procurement budgets and track cost savings.
- Identify procurement risks (supplier failure, material shortages, price fluctuations) and implement mitigation plans.
- Support value engineering initiatives without compromising quality.
7. Collaboration & Reporting
- Collaborate with design, commercial, production, and site teams to ensure material compatibility and availability.
- Provide regular procurement status reports, supplier performance metrics, and project-wise cost updates.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of procurement workflows and systems.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–10+ years’ experience in procurement within joinery, woodworking, interior fit-out, or construction.
- Strong knowledge of materials: timber, veneers, hardware, architectural finishes, FF&E, etc.
- Experience with international sourcing and import regulations is a plus.
- Proficiency in ERP systems and procurement tools.
