Position Summary

The Senior Product Analyst plays a pivotal role in driving the development and sustained success of the company’s products, with a strong focus on fostering growth and optimizing profitability. Additionally, the Senior Analyst provides critical support to the Vice President, attending meetings, addressing inquiries, and representing the VP as needed.

Leveraging a deep understanding of both product and industry dynamics, the Senior Analyst conducts comprehensive quantitative data analysis to guide strategic decision-making across product design, pricing strategies, and market positioning. By identifying and capitalizing on profitable market segments, the Senior Analyst contributes to the development of competitive products and services, overseeing the entire product lifecycle—from initial concept to enhancements or redesigns—ensuring alignment with the organization’s overarching strategic goals and objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the development of strategic and tactical objectives.
  • Attend meetings, respond to inquiries and speak on behalf of the department’s Vice President.
  • Monitor regulatory circulars from various bureaus and Departments of Insurance (DOIs) to ensure compliance with rate, rule and form filings.
  • Monitor competitive developments by regularly reviewing DOI updates, industry websites, gathering agency feedback, and conducting DOI visits.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and third-party filing sources to ensure timely completion of regulatory filings to the DOIs.
  • Engage in the rate review process for the portfolio of products, leveraging insights from ongoing monitoring activities to assess the impact on the business.
  • Foster seamless communication with project teams to effectively articulate business requirements and translate them into precise specifications for IT and QA teams.
  • Craft and implement comprehensive product and service specifications to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
  • Establish robust processes for managing product and service requirements throughout their lifecycle, promoting efficiency and clarity.
  • Maintain streamlined procedures for product and service releases, ensuring smooth and timely deployment.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, or similar discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Four or more years of experience in the insurance, legal or financial services industry
  • Experience in engaging with senior leadership and external stakeholders
  • Proficient in analysis, problem solving and prioritization with the ability to assess situations and provide sound recommendations
  • Skill in organizational and time management with attention to detail, ensuring tasks and deliverables are executed with accuracy and precision
  • Skill in verbal and written communication, enabling clear and concise information exchange; adept at presenting reports and recommendations to all levels of management
  • Ability to function independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment with skill in interpersonal communication and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite with a strong knowledge of Excel, with emphasis on formulas, pivot tables, v-lookup, and similar tools to manipulate large quantities of data; familiarity with Data Warehouse and other function specific software and systems
