01. About the Company
Dizzaract is a product-driven company operating at the intersection of gaming, digital platforms, and AI. We build and scale multiple products — including Farcana 2.0, Gamed, and FAR Labs — each exploring a different space, but united by a shared approach: moving fast, staying curious, and focusing on things that people actually use.
We operate as a collaborative, non-hierarchical team where ideas are valued based on their impact, not their origin, and where AI is embedded across everything we build — from infrastructure to product decisions.
02. About the Role
Gamed is a social gaming platform where players discover games, track progress, connect with others, and express their identity through gameplay. We are building systems that make games more meaningful — from personalisation and progression mechanics to social layers and reward structures.
We are looking for a Product Designer specialising in Systems & Mechanics to own the experience design of the core platform loops, game discovery flows, and social engagement systems.
This is a hands-on design role where you will shape how millions of users interact with games, each other, and their own progression. You will work at the intersection of UX, game design thinking, and product strategy — in close collaboration with product, engineering, and data teams.
03. Who You Are
Systems-Oriented Designer
You think in flows, loops, and states — not just screens. You understand how design decisions affect engagement, retention, and behaviour at scale.
Game-Literate
You understand core game design concepts — progression, feedback loops, reward systems, metagames — and can apply them to product design contexts.
Execution-Focused
You are comfortable owning features end-to-end — from early concept and structure through to polished UI and interaction detail.
Collaborative Builder
You work well with product managers, engineers, and data analysts. You can translate complex system logic into clear, intuitive experiences.
Data-Informed
You make design decisions grounded in user research, product metrics, and behavioural insight — not just intuition.
04. Responsibilities
Core Platform Experience
Design and iterate on the core loops of the Gamed platform — discovery, progression, social interaction, and identity expression.
Systems & Mechanics Design
Define the rules and logic behind engagement systems — XP, rewards, achievements, social graphs, and personalisation — ensuring they are coherent, motivating, and scalable.
UX & Interaction Design
Create detailed wireframes, flows, and high-fidelity prototypes. Ensure consistency and quality across the product.
Research & Validation
Conduct user research, usability testing, and competitive analysis. Use findings to refine concepts and validate decisions.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with product, engineering, and data teams throughout the design and delivery process. Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and design critiques.
Design System Contribution
Contribute to and maintain the Gamed design system. Ensure components and patterns are reusable, accessible, and well-documented.
05. Requirements
06. What You Will Learn
Behavioural Design
How engagement loops, variable reward schedules, and social mechanics drive retention and habit formation at scale.
Platform Thinking
How to design systems and experiences that serve both individual users and the broader network — balancing personal value with community dynamics.
AI-Augmented Design
How AI tools are integrated into the design process across research, ideation, and personalisation — and how to build products where AI enhances the user experience.
07. How We Work
Async-first, but human
We default to written communication for decisions, context, and documentation — but we know when a short call saves an hour of back-and-forth. We respect deep work time and don't expect instant replies.
Short cycles, real feedback
We work in 2-week sprints. Designs go to users fast — sometimes faster than feels comfortable. We believe real feedback from real users beats internal consensus every time.
Design has a seat at the table
Designers are involved from the earliest stages of product thinking — not handed specs to execute. You will be expected to challenge assumptions, propose alternatives, and push back when something doesn't serve the user.
No design by committee
We debate, then we decide. Once a direction is chosen, we move. We don't endlessly iterate without shipping. Ownership means taking responsibility for outcomes — not just deliverables.
08. Your First 90 Days
Days 1–30 · Orientation
Get deep context on Gamed — the product, the users, the metrics, and the roadmap. Review existing designs and the current design system. Shadow the team in planning and review sessions. Complete one small, scoped design task to get comfortable with the stack and process.
Days 31–60 · Contribution
Take ownership of a live feature or system — from brief to shipped. Run a round of user research or usability testing. Start to identify gaps or inconsistencies in existing flows and bring proposals to the team.
Days 61–90 · Ownership
Lead design on a meaningful product initiative. Establish a working rhythm with your PM and engineering partners. Begin contributing to the design system in a structured way. Share a retrospective on what you have shipped and what you want to tackle next.
09. Interview Process
We keep the process focused and respectful of your time. Here is what to expect:
Step 1 · Intro Call
30 minutes with a member of the team. We talk about your background, what you are looking for, and give you a chance to ask questions about Gamed and the role.
Step 2 · Portfolio Review
60 minutes. Walk us through 2–3 projects from your portfolio. We are most interested in your thinking process — how you framed the problem, the decisions you made, and what you learned. Polished visuals matter less than depth of reasoning.
Step 3 · Design Exercise
A short take-home exercise scoped to 3–4 hours. We give you a real problem from the Gamed product space. There is no single right answer — we want to see how you think, structure ambiguity, and communicate your approach.
Step 4 · Final Interview
60–90 minutes with the product and design leads. We go deep on your exercise, discuss how you would approach the role, and give you full transparency on team dynamics, challenges, and what success looks like.
We aim to complete the full process within 2 weeks and will keep you informed at every step.
