Senior Production Engineer – PVC / PE / PPR Pipes | SAP B1

About the Role

We are hiring a Senior Production Engineer to lead and optimize our plastic pipe extrusion operations for PVC, PE, and PPR product lines. You will drive production efficiency, quality, and team performance while ensuring accurate data management in SAP Business One.

Key Responsibilities

1. Lead Production: Plan, supervise, and control daily extrusion operations for PVC, PE, and PPR pipes to meet targets for output, quality, and cost.

2. Process Optimization: Troubleshoot extrusion lines, set machine parameters, reduce downtime, wastage rate, and improve OEE. Handle dies, vacuum tanks, haul-offs, and cutters.

3. SAP B1 Production Module: Create and release Production Orders in SAP B1, perform Issue for Production, Receipt from Production, and manage BOMs/Routings. Ensure real-time WIP and inventory accuracy.

4. Material & Inventory Control: Monitor raw material consumption vs BOM in SAP B1, track wastage/rework, and coordinate with stores for physical vs system stock reconciliation.

5. Quality Assurance: Ensure products meet standards like, ISO 4427, ASTM, DIN and BS standards. Coordinate with QC for in-process checks and update QA results in SAP B1.

6. Team Management: Train and manage operators, technicians, and shift supervisors. Implement SOPs and 5S on the floor.

7. Maintenance Coordination: Raise maintenance requests and work with maintenance team for preventive maintenance to minimize downtime.

8. Reporting & Analytics: Generate daily production report, efficiency, and variance reports using SAP B1 data. Analyze KPIs like OEE, yield, and machine utilization.

9. New Product Development: Support R&D for new sizes, grades, and formulations. Create new BOMs in SAP B1 for trials and scale-up.

Requirements

Education: BSc/BE Mechanical, Chemical, Polymer, or Industrial Engineering.

Experience: 3-5-years in pipe extrusion, with 3+ years in a supervisory role. Must have hands-on experience with PVC, PE, and PPR lines.

ERP Skills: 2+ years practical experience with SAP Business One – Production, MRP, and Inventory modules.

Must be able to work independently in SAP B1 without IT support.

Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of single/twin screw extruders, compounding, mixing, material properties, tooling, and downstream equipment.

Standards: Familiar with all international pipe standards.

Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and data-driven decision making.
