Summary: This position is responsible for the execution and coordination of complex interior design projects in conjunction with the client and the sales team. This individual applies the established design intent to specific project parameters to meet client needs in the areas of Space Planning, CAD, Furniture and Finish resources and Color and Materials applications.

Responsibilities:

Project Design

  • – Apply and adapt established design intent to meet client needs / requests.
  • – Coordinate all phases of the interior design process to ensure completion in a timely and accurate manner.
  • – Develop CAD representations and accurately determine project / order specifications.
  • – Provide regular updates to Project Design Manager and sales team.
  • – Assemble team meetings with Sales Coordinator, Project Manager, Installation Supervisor and / or sales team members whenever warranted to facilitate complete and timely communication.

Sales Support

  • – Aid sales in presentations for new clients and future projects.
  • – Promote products and services through presentations, marketing strategies, and sales techniques.

Department Citizenship

  • – Maintain internal reporting systems; i.e., timesheets, project files and project schedules.
  • – Act as a mentor to Project Designers on process, design and technical issues.
  • – Contribute to a collaborative and positive work environment within the department.
  • – Support the design process and continuous improvement process as it relates to design.

Education and / or Experience: Bachelor’s degree from 4-year college or university required. Interior Design degree from an accredited university preferred. Minimum three years’ professional experience in office furniture / interiors or related field.

Certification Requirements:

Computer Skills: Must demonstrate familiarity with the Windows operating environment and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Must demonstrate proficiency with AutoCAD, SketchUp and CAP, with at least three years’ experience preferred.

Other Key Skills and Abilities:

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Primary Environment: Ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment found in a typical office. Occasional exposure to building areas where use of personal protective equipment such as hard hats, hearing protection and safety glasses may be required.
