Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and highly skilled Senior Project Engineer to lead and coordinate complex engineering projects within the construction and infrastructure sectors. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive project success from inception through completion, ensuring technical excellence, adherence to safety standards, and timely delivery. As a key member of our team, you will utilize your extensive expertise in civil, mechanical, and water treatment engineering to manage multidisciplinary tasks, collaborate with clients, and deliver innovative system designs that meet client specifications and regulatory requirements.

Duties

  • Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of engineering projects using advanced project management tools and techniques.
  • Develop detailed construction estimates and budgets, leveraging construction estimating skills to ensure project viability.
  • Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including schematics, system design reports, and construction drawings.
  • Oversee construction management activities such as site inspections, quality assurance, safety compliance, and progress monitoring.
  • Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) tools like BuilderTrend and Bluebeam to analyze spatial data for project planning.
  • Coordinate with geotechnical engineers and water treatment specialists to design systems involving hydraulics, wastewater treatment, stormwater management.
  • Conduct technical writing for project proposals, reports, and manuals; ensure all documentation aligns with industry standards.
  • Manage project schedules with tools like Project scheduling software to meet deadlines efficiently while maintaining high-quality standards.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on system design projects involving pipelines, schematics, land surveying data, and civil engineering principles.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer in construction management or civil engineering environments.
  • Demonstrated expertise in project scheduling software such as Primavera P6 or MS Project.
  • Strong background in construction inspection, system design for water/wastewater treatment plants, hydraulics modeling, and geotechnical engineering principles.
  • Proficiency in drafting and drafting review; familiarity with Bluebeam for document markup is a plus.
  • Knowledge of construction estimating processes and techniques to prepare accurate cost assessments.
  • Ability to interpret technical schematics and drawings related to pipelines, water systems, mechanical components, and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Familiarity with hydraulic modeling software such as HEC-RAS or SWMM for stormwater management projects.
  • Strong communication skills for technical writing and coordinating across diverse teams; ability to produce clear reports and project documentation.

Essential Skills (MUST HAVE)

· OSHA 30 certification preferred (or OSHA 10 minimum).

· Proven experience managing budgets, schedules, and project teams.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.

· Experience in commercial, residential, or underground utility projects.

· Solid understanding of safety regulations.

· Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, tools, and equipment.

· Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., Procore, MS Project, Bluebeam).

· Proficiency with jobsite software, mobile apps, or digital reporting tools (e.g., Procore, Buildertrend, Bluebeam, etc.).

Work Environment

· Lift up to 25 lbs.

  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Stand or walk for extended periods.

· Navigate active construction sites safely.

· Ability to work extended hours and weekends as project needs dictation.

  • Work in all weather conditions (Drive around to get to job sites and office).
  • Combination of office and field work. Must be able to visit and inspect job sites regularly.
