Job Responsibilities:
As a Senior Project Manager, you will have overall responsibility for leading, managing, coordinating and tracking to completion, all tasks related to the new machine projects. Other duties include, but are not limited to the following.
What You Will Contribute:
- Responsible for significant, enterprise wide projects, typically with large budgets and sizeable staff.
- Focused on meeting project commitments, including communications with sponsors, stakeholders, customers etc.
- Understanding of strategic or operational responsibilities.
- Leads and coordinates the design, testing, planning, and implementation of complex projects for Customers that have strategic, long-term impacts to the business.
- Lead the development and implementation of a broad, coordinated set of plans and programs to meet the goals and priorities for the Customer.
- Cultivate contacts with vendors, planners or other builders to obtain information about future developments in the functional areas of the project(s)
- Participate in outside professional activities to maintain professional knowledge.
- Establish liaisons with customers and other vendors to keep abreast of status of new product developments that could benefit our customers.
- Continuously improve project management toolkits and methodologies used within Morris South.
- Provide expertise and consulting to project managers in the process of project management and in the softer skills of team dynamics, team building and group motivation
- Responsible for project growth, marketing new technology and/or follow-on business arrangements.
- Work with the key stakeholders to analyze the project(s) and ensure they are properly planned with resources and time allocations.
- Work with the Pre-Sales Team to properly price management aspects of the project
- Create a Risk Register and clearly identify risks associated with the project.
- Clearly define and manage all aspects of the project(s) that are stipulated in the customer’s Statement of Work via the Project Plan. This will include governance, risks, assumptions, constraints, dependencies and major milestones for the project.
- Create a project timeline that clearly shows the discrete tasks associated with each project. Resources should be assigned to each task down to the 3rd level of a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS).
- Lead an Internal Project Kick Off Meeting with the key stakeholders. Achieve as much clarity as possible on roles and responsibilities of the project team and stakeholders. Assign ownership for all open action items and deliverables.
- Develop, track and control schedule, budget, deliverables, etc.
- Lead an external Project Kick Off Meeting with the customer’s stakeholders, and internal project team, to review the customer’s Statement of Work (and other pertinent documents). Achieve as much clarity as possible on roles and responsibilities of the project team and stakeholders. Assign ownership for all open action items and document all key components of the project in the Project Plan
- Identify, track and update all active projects via a Weekly Status Report and provide updated status on a weekly basis. Share the status report with all stakeholders.
- Review the Installation Checklist/Workbook to make sure all line items are clearly defined for installation purposes. This is critical for installations so all line items on the Installation Checklist are clearly described, and the work to be performed is understood by the Operations and Engineering teams prior to equipment arriving at the customer’s facility.
- Coordinate with Sales to determine delivery and installation expectations for all equipment.
- Coordinate with Engineering to ensure they are aware of the timeframe for training the customer on the machine and options.
- Coordinate with Contracts to ensure the machine and options are ordered in time to meet the customers installation timeframe
- Establish a culture of constant improvement.
- Identify trends associated with equipment installations that negatively impact the overall process. Document the trends and work with the management team to address these items.
- Review post installation reports for lessons learned that can be applied to future installations
