Senior Project Manager

A Senior Construction Project Manager leads large, complex projects from start to finish, overseeing strategic planning, budgeting, scheduling, and execution while managing stakeholders, teams (superintendents, architects, subs), ensuring safety, quality control, and budget adherence, and mentoring junior staff to achieve project goals within organizational standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership: Directing entire project lifecycle (planning, execution, closeout), making high-stakes decisions, and aligning goals with company strategy.

Financial Management: Developing and monitoring budgets, controlling costs, and implementing cost-saving measures.

Scheduling & Logistics: Creating detailed plans, allocating resources (personnel, materials), and ensuring timely completion.

Stakeholder Communication: Liaising with clients, architects, engineers, contractors, and authorities; providing regular progress reports.

Quality & Safety: Implementing quality control, conducting site inspections, ensuring compliance with standards, and enforcing safety protocols.

Team Management: Leading, mentoring, and guiding construction teams and junior PMs, resolving conflicts, and fostering collaboration.

Risk Management: Identifying potential risks and developing mitigation strategies.

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

Extensive experience (often 15+ years) in construction project management.

Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of construction codes, regulations, and building methods.

Proficiency with project management software and methodologies (PMP/PRINCE2 certification is a plus).

A degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field.
