- Company: VisualFizz
- Position: Senior Project Manager
- Status: Full-Time or Contract-to-Hire
- Salary: TBD Based on Experience
- Start Date: December 2025 or January 2026
Who We Are
VisualFizz is a Chicago-based, full-service digital marketing agency that helps brands grow. We support growth-stage organizations building their brands, mid-size companies looking to add efficiencies, and Fortune 500 companies aiming for something fresh, new, and modern.
Launched in 2016, VisualFizz was born from a desire to build a better agency, one that is leaner, stronger, and more suited for modern times. We pride ourselves on our small but dynamic team that serves a select group of industry leaders. Despite economic shifts, we have continued to grow largely due to our flexible team structure, exciting team dynamic, and a modern approach to work-life balance.
The Role: What You Will Do
VisualFizz is seeking a Senior Project Manager who sits at the intersection of technical development, creative production, and marketing strategy. This is a pivotal role for a candidate who can speak the language of developers as fluently as the language of brand managers.
You won’t just be moving tickets; you will be driving a diverse mix of client initiatives ranging from complex website builds to integrated marketing campaigns. While we need someone who has "been there, built that" regarding technical web projects (understanding the lifecycle, process, and verbiage), you will also lead broader marketing efforts including SEO, content, and digital strategy. You must be able to simultaneously manage client expectations with empathy and polish across all project types.
Key Responsibilities
Technical & Web Project Management
- Lead the planning and execution of website builds and technical digital products.
- Translate client business requirements into technical specifications for the development team; you must be comfortable discussing CMS structures, integrations, and development workflows.
- Manage the QA process for both technical builds (functionality, responsiveness) and marketing campaigns (tracking pixels, creative alignment, copy accuracy).
- Construct project timelines that account for development sprints, UAT (User Acceptance Testing), and launch protocols.
Client & Campaign Management
- Act as the primary bridge between the client and VisualFizz; exceptional "people skills" are a must. You must be able to de-escalate issues and build trust.
- Manage the scope of projects rigorously; identify "scope creep" early and negotiate change orders or adjustments with the client.
- Oversee general marketing campaigns and teams (SEO, Content, Social, Paid Media), ensuring that creative output matches strategic goals and marketing challenges are addressed effectively.
- Identify, analyze, and mitigate project risks before they become blockers.
Operational Leadership
- Ownership of project estimates and opportunities to scale the client work; work with the team to develop initial estimates and manage time/cost against those budgets.
- Introduce and refine Project Management systems/tools that will benefit the agency.
- Mentor team members and promote professional development within the organization.
- Work alongside the Project lead and leadership to help grow the business through business development, networking, and proposal creation.
Requirements
Professional Experience
- Minimum 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, Agency experience required.
- Technical Background is a Must: Proven experience managing complex website builds. You do not need to be a developer, but you must understand the process, terminology, and potential pitfalls of web development.
- Marketing Generalist Knowledge: Ability to speak intelligently to marketing strategies (SEO implications, conversion rate optimization, lead generation flow) and ensure campaigns meet quality standards.
Skills & Attributes
- Superior People Skills: You are a high-touch communicator who can make clients feel heard and cared for, even during difficult conversations.
- Process-Oriented: You can look at a chaotic workflow and organize it into a streamlined process.
- QA Mindset: You have a sharp eye for detail, capable of catching a broken link, a misspelling, or a design misalignment before it reaches the client.
- Tools: Intermediate to advanced skills in project management software (e.g., Monday, Clickup, Toggl, etc)
- Self-Starter: You are inventive and can work with limited supervision in a remote or hybrid environment.
