Senior Purchase Officer – Job Description:
- Develop and execute strategic sourcing plans for key categories.
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard vendors based on quality, cost, and service.
- Solicit and review quotations, proposals, and bids.
- Conduct competitive bid analysis to ensure value and compliance.
- Negotiate pricing, payment terms, SLAs, and long-term supply contracts.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure reliable supply.
- Monitor vendor performance and manage corrective actions when required.
- Conduct regular supplier audits (quality, delivery, compliance)
- Review and approve purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
- Track and expedite orders to ensure timely delivery.
- Liaise with logistics, warehouse, finance, and operations teams to resolve issues.
- Manage inventory levels and support demand planning efforts.
- Analyze market trends, pricing, and supply risks.
- Identify cost-reduction and value-improvement opportunities.
- Prepare regular procurement performance reports for management.
- Ensure all procurement activities comply with company policies and legal requirements.
- Maintain accurate and complete purchasing documentation.
- Support audits and implement process improvements.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Any bachelor’s degree, supply chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8+ years of procurement or purchasing experience in Manufacturing field.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Knowledge of Tally ERP procurement modules (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, etc. added advantage).
