1. Procurement & Sourcing
- Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers for mechanical parts, raw materials, tools, and industrial equipment.
- Conduct RFQs (Requests for Quotation), analyze bids, and negotiate pricing, payment terms, and delivery schedules.
- Ensure purchased items meet technical specifications, engineering drawings, and industry standards.
- Source alternative suppliers to reduce cost and mitigate supply-chain risks.
2. Supplier Management
- Develop long-term relationships with key suppliers to ensure quality, reliability, and performance.
- Conduct supplier audits and performance evaluations (delivery, cost, quality, and responsiveness).
- Resolve supplier non-conformities in collaboration with the Quality Assurance team.
- Lead contract negotiations and framework agreements.
3. Inventory & Cost Control
- Maintain optimal inventory levels to support production schedules while minimizing excess stock.
- Implement cost-reduction initiatives and track savings.
- Monitor market trends (raw materials, metals, mechanical components) and adjust sourcing strategies accordingly.
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Work closely with the engineering team to interpret technical drawings, BOMs (Bill of Materials), and specifications.
- Collaborate with production planners to prioritize urgent orders and manage critical materials.
- Support new product development by identifying suitable suppliers and components.
5. Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain accurate purchasing records, contracts, and supplier databases.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
- Oversee import/export documentation when required.
