Role Overview

As a Senior Python Developer at Millipixels, you will be responsible for building and maintaining production-grade Python applications and services. This is a hands-on technical role where you will lead architectural decisions, establish engineering standards, and mentor junior developers. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable, reliable, and high-quality backend systems while driving engineering excellence and reducing technical debt.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable, modular, and high-performance Python applications and services.
• Architect clean and efficient systems using asynchronous programming patterns including asyncio, concurrency, and parallelism.
• Implement robust error handling, retry mechanisms, and fault-tolerant designs to ensure system reliability.
• Define and enforce coding standards, repository structure, code review processes, testing practices, and CI/CD guidelines.
• Establish strong unit and integration testing discipline to ensure production readiness and long-term maintainability.
• Introduce and maintain static typing using tools such as mypy or pyright, along with linting and formatting standards.
• Develop and maintain backend services using FastAPI and/or Flask for production environments.
• Design and integrate RESTful and event-driven architectures, including background task systems and WebSockets.
• Collaborate with frontend developers, product managers, and DevOps teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Ensure effective logging, monitoring, and observability for production systems.
• Perform performance tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization of Python applications.
• Conduct architectural reviews and mentor junior developers to elevate overall code quality and engineering maturity.
• Proactively identify, address, and reduce technical debt while enforcing engineering discipline.

What We’re Looking For

• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in Python development.
• Strong understanding of Python internals including asyncio, concurrency, multiprocessing, and memory management.
• Solid experience with object-oriented programming and clean architecture principles.
• Proven experience building backend services using FastAPI and/or Flask in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of RESTful APIs, event-driven systems, and service-to-service communication.
• Experience working with Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Hands-on experience with logging, monitoring, observability, and performance optimization in production systems.
• Familiarity with dependency management, packaging, and versioning in Python ecosystems.
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to take ownership of complex technical challenges.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with experience mentoring junior engineers.

Pay: ₹90,000.00 - ₹100,000.00 per month
