Senior QA Engineer (Automation & QA Lead)

1. Role Overview

We are seeking a Senior QA Engineer to establish and lead the Quality Assurance function across our fintech products. This role is both hands-on and strategic: you will design and implement QA processes, build automation frameworks, and lay the foundation for a scalable QA team.

As the first QA hire, you will play a critical role in improving product quality, reducing risk, and enabling safe and predictable releases.

1. Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement end-to-end QA strategy, processes, and standards
• Build and maintain automated test frameworks (API, backend, and UI where applicable)
• Define test plans, test cases, and regression testing strategies
• Ensure quality across backend services, APIs, portals, and integrations
• Integrate automated testing into CI/CD pipelines
• Work closely with Product, Engineering, and DevOps teams to embed quality early in the SDLC
• Own release quality and production readiness criteria
• Identify quality risks and proactively raise issues
• Hire, mentor, and lead future QA team members

1. Required Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience in Quality Assurance, with strong automation focus
• Proven experience building QA processes from scratch
• Strong experience in test automation for APIs and backend services
• Hands-on experience with automation tools and frameworks (e.g., Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, REST-assured, Postman, or similar)
• Experience integrating QA automation with CI/CD pipelines
• Strong understanding of SDLC, Agile methodologies, and release management
• Leadership mindset with the ability to mentor and build teams

1. Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in fintech, banking, or highly regulated environments
• Experience testing B2B APIs and financial transactions
• Familiarity with security testing and compliance-driven QA
• ISTQB or similar certification
