Post-Contract Management
- Reports functionally to the Contracts Director on all commercial and contractual matters and supports the Project Manager on site with cost, valuation, and change management
- Act as the primary commercial point of contact on the remote island, ensuring timely reporting and escalation of contractual and commercial issues to the Contracts Director/ Project Managers.
- Proactively advise the Contracts Director on contractual strategy, entitlement, and risk exposure.
- Administer the post-contract phase, including valuations, variations, claims, and cost reporting.
- Prepare and submit interim payment applications and final accounts.
- Monitor project costs against budget and forecast financial outcomes.
- Review contractor claims, change orders, and assist in negotiations.
- Manage contract correspondence and maintain proper documentation.
Subcontract Management
- Administer and manage subcontract agreements in accordance with main contract terms.
- Prepare, review, and assess subcontractor interim payments, variations, claims, and final accounts.
- Ensure subcontract compliance with contractual, commercial, insurance, bond, and reporting requirements.
- Maintain alignment between main contract obligations and subcontract provisions (flow-down).
- Support negotiations and resolution of subcontractor commercial disputes.
- Monitor subcontractor cost performance and advise on risk exposure and mitigation.
Site Productivity & Logistics Interface
- Assess and monitor site productivity rates against allowances, benchmarks, and programme assumptions.
- Identify productivity shortfalls, inefficiencies, or disruption impacts and advise the Contracts Director and Project Manager on cost and entitlement implications.
- Support substantiation of prolongation, disruption, and inefficiency claims using site records and productivity data.
- Interface with site warehouse and logistics teams to verify material receipts, usage, wastage, and stock levels for cost control and valuation purposes.
- Reconcile material consumption with BOQ, variations, and subcontract accounts to ensure commercial accuracy.
- Flag material handling, storage, or logistics constraints that may impact productivity, cost, or contractual entitlement.
Technical & Commercial & Compliance
- Review and verify material specifications against contract documents, BOQ, drawings, and technical requirements.
- Ensure all materials comply with approved project specifications and client standards.
- Coordinate with procurement and engineering teams regarding approved vendors and suppliers.
- Evaluate material submittals and support the approval process.
- Assist in resolving material-related discrepancies or disputes.
Cost Control & Reporting
- Conduct cost analysis and prepare detailed cost reports for management.
- Track material costs and assess cost impacts of changes or substitutions.
- Support value engineering initiatives without compromising quality or compliance.
Risk & Claims Management
- Identify contractual and commercial risks related to materials and project changes.
- Prepare and assess claims, extensions of time (EOT), and cost impacts.
- Ensure adherence to contractual procedures and timelines.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–12 years of relevant experience, preferably in post-contract roles.
- Experience working on remote or logistically constrained projects is an advantage
- Strong knowledge of material specifications, construction standards, and technical documentation.
- Proficiency in cost management software and MS Office applications.
