We are seeking a highly competent and experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor with a minimum of 6 years of experience in UAE construction projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all commercial, contractual, and cost-related aspects of projects from inception to completion, ensuring effective cost control, contract compliance, and financial performance.
Key Responsibilities1. Commercial & Cost Management
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and cost plans
- Monitor project costs and ensure alignment with approved budgets
- Conduct cost analysis and prepare regular financial reports
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and value engineering options
2. Tendering & Procurement
- Prepare and evaluate tender documents and BOQs
- Analyze subcontractor quotations and prepare comparison statements
- Negotiate and finalize subcontract agreements
- Assist in procurement strategy and contract award recommendations
3. Contract Administration
- Review and interpret contract documents (FIDIC or other forms)
- Manage contractual correspondence
- Ensure compliance with contract terms and conditions
- Provide advice on contractual risks and mitigation strategies
4. Variations & Claims Management
- Evaluate and prepare variation orders
- Assess contractor and subcontractor claims
- Prepare extension of time (EOT) and cost claims documentation
- Negotiate and finalize claims and variations
5. Payment Certification & Final Accounts
- Review and certify interim payment applications
- Prepare and submit monthly valuations
- Monitor cash flow projections
- Prepare and agree final accounts with clients and subcontractors
6. Coordination & Reporting
- Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and project teams
- Attend commercial and progress meetings
- Provide commercial advice to project managers
- Maintain accurate project documentation and records
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field
- Minimum 6 years of relevant experience in UAE construction projects
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and UAE construction regulations
- Proficiency in MS Office (Excel advanced level preferred)
- Experience with cost management software (e.g., CCS, Candy, Primavera, etc.)
