ViewRay Systems designs, manufactures, and markets the MRIdian A3i® radiation therapy system to treat cancer patients with the smallest radiation therapy margins available[i] with the highest patient throughput demonstrated for the most complicated cases[ii] The system treats by aligning the sharpest radiation therapy beam on the market to diagnostic quality magnetic resonance images (MRIs) of the patient, adapts the treatment plan to the reality of the patient, and then uses the real-time MRIs to control the beam and record real-time doses delivered to the patient.


Job Description:

ViewRay Systems is currently seeking a Senior R&D Technician, who will share our passion for conquering cancer and help us develop systems novel cancer therapy systems.


Responsibilities:

  • The candidate should be highly proficient with all hand tools used in the manufacturing, assembly, service and repair of linear accelerator-based cancer therapy equipment.
  • The candidate must follow all company policies regarding safety, regulatory,
  • and company policy. Should be able to interface with various groups within the company.
  • Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be self-motivated to accomplish goals that need to be completed.
  • Must be proficient at software such as Word and Excel and possess good communication skills.
  • The candidate must collaborate with engineers to establish the assembly and test procedures and provide feedback for design and process improvement.
  • Maintain accurate traceability associated with the build documentation.
  • The candidate should be very familiar with Arena or similar resource management software.
  • The candidate should be well trained in the use of engineering documentation such as prints, processes, Bill of Materials (BOM), assembly drawings, work instructions, operational instruction and so on.
  • Experience installing and operating medical linear accelerator systems for testing and validation.
  • Experience updating software and hardware on medical linear accelerator systems.
  • Provide feedback to engineering, regulatory and field service.


Required Qualifications:

  • The candidate must have at least 10 years of experience in the field of oncology equipment working for an ISO 13485 certified company.
  • The candidate must have at least 10 years of experience in the field of oncology equipment maintaining tool calibration inventory and records, BOM maintenance, lists of parts and spare parts.
  • The candidate must have at least 10 years of experience in linear accelerator-based oncology systems performing performance and reliability testing. This includes documentation of findings and reporting to all required groups.
  • Associate of Science/Arts or higher


Valued Qualifications:

  • Medical device experience
  • 5+ years of experience with supplier controls and contracts
